Workshops and Seminars

Throughout the year, the CIVD offers workshops and information events on topics relevant to the industry - from legal seminars to workshops for beginners.

Special normative, technical regulations, requirements for materials and substance bans, current court rulings relating to the industry or general questions of distribution law: the range of technical and legal requirements for leisure vehicle manufacturers and suppliers is constantly growing. The CIVD therefore attaches great importance to offering its members seminars and information events on all industry-relevant topics that are specifically tailored to the needs of the industry. Due to the pandemic situation, seminars have only been able to take place to a limited extent in recent years or have been offered as webinars.
In the basic seminars on standardization, the normative requirements for caravans and motorhomes are presented and explained in detail with practical examples. The standardization seminar for beginners and as a refresher is held as an open event and, on request, also as in-house training. Experience has shown that the discussions on site and during the breaks promote exchange and networking. The latest developments in projects managed by the CIVD, such as the CI-BUS, are also highlighted. Information events on EC type approval and material compliance round off the range of offers.

In addition, an international law firm has been running workshops on “Drafting contracts, warranties, guarantees and product liability” for over 20 years. In these workshops, the system of liability for material defects is explained with a great deal of industry knowledge and practical know-how, also on the basis of current cases. The range of workshops is constantly being expanded and updated. The CIVD strives to include further industry-relevant topics in the practical workshops.

The workshop “Legal seminar for newcomers to the caravanning industry” provides basic legal knowledge in the areas of contract design, warranty, guarantee and product liability. This is aimed at those who have never attended a CIVD legal workshop or simply want to refresh their knowledge.
